The DFC Office

Many people have been asking me “When’s the next DFC production?”

The answer: We don’t have a set date.

Right now our energies are focused on becoming a not-for-profit (so close…) and setting up our new office space!
We’re very fortunate to be renting a room in a new artist run space just off the Drive. We share the space with a band, several sewing ladies, a musician, a photographer, a builder and two plants (for now, more to come) named George and Georgette. The projected goal for having the office complete and ready is about a month from now, mid June.

In true Dusty fashion, we are trying to purchase as little as we can for the office. Trolling through free postings online, wandering down alleyways and asking those around us to fill up our space with delightful items.

Here’s our wishlist:

  • an old style comfy arm chair or small loveseat

  • shelves!

  • a colourful throw rug

  • old style frames (poster size)

  • an old style working phone

  • 3 intricate wooden lattices or metal grates (approx. 4′ x 1 1/2′)

  • nice lamps-table and floor

That’s all I can think of right now, but I shall update the list as we go along.

Watch our progress……

Moving up in the World

Dusty Flowerpot had it’s first ever AGM last week and it was a huge success!! Thank you to all the folks that could make it out. A big props out to last year’s admin team and a clap for the new admin team for this upcoming year.
We are also very excited to say that we are taking the last few steps needed to make ourselves a Not-For-Profit Organization!!! (not quite yet, but almost there) Whoop whoop.

“I’ll definitely go back.”-COLIN THOMAS, The Georgia Straight, February 25, 2011
“All hail Jack Garton, the dashing young bandleader who plays his golden trumpet like Gabriel in fierce battle with the Devil and sings both original compositions and dusty stuff from the era in complete control of gorgeous vocal chords.”“A hell of a hoot.”- PETER BIRNIE, VANCOUVER SUN MARCH 12, 2011
“Hard Times Hit Parade starts with a gangbuster of a choreographed number. The music revs up, fringe flies, little potty hats are clutched, pearl rope necklaces bounce and the joint really jumps. Yowza, yowza.”
“It’s terrific fun and would be even more so if you dolled up in some vintage threads, plunked a pokey little hat or a fedora on your head, put on your dancing shoes and joined in.”- JO LEDINGHAM, VANCOUVER COURIER MARCH 4, 2011
